I was looking on ebay for a dell monitor and was wondering if all the dell lcd flat panel monitors work with dell computers?

Monitors are basically generic and any Dell flat panel should work with a current Dell computer. Connection from the monitor to the computer could vary however all should have a generic connection which will work. Biggest issue should be obtaining a cable if you don't already have one or one doesn't come with it!

I can't choose what I want to do with computers for a career?

I keep changing my mind on what I want to do with computers for a career, I know its normal for someone going/about to go to college to change what they want their master is going to be several times, but it changes with me practically every week. I love everything about computers and want to beable to do everything with them, programing, making games, build websites, administer networks, etc. I'm planning on going to college very soon but I can't make up my mind. One thing I'd like to learn nomatter what is programing, and many lanuages of it, but that doesn't narrow it down for me much because I want to beable to make my own programs and games/modify exisiting ones. I live in a rual area so its not like theres anyone I can jobshadow to help me find out if I'll like programing or anything. I created 2 photo DVDs for a couple of friends - using 'Verbatim' disks - but they cannot be read my either of my friends on thier computers (one friend in the UK and one in the USA - if that makes any difference?) Funny though, my UK friend was able to see them on soomeone elses computer, but not their own.

You can use a ethernet cable used for networking, by crimping the RJ45 connectors (the white plastic connector heads) in a crossover connection which is done specially for connecting two computers only. Normal crimping which is used to connect computers in a network through a hub/switch will not work. Your local computer shop should be able to crimp a cable of required length for you. Both of your computers should have a network card to insert the pins. After the cable is in place you can configure a new network connection to identify and create a network connection between the two computers. You can give each computer an ip address for example 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 and a subnet mask 255.255.255.0

In the main computer where the printer is installed, just go to the Printer folder inside of Control Panel. Right click your All in one printer and then Click Sharing. Click on Share this printer in the window that opens and then hit OK.

Let's see....you have the LCD, CRT, plasma, HDLCD, you can use a tv, projector. The next question would be what does your video card support? DVI is better than VGA, some cards have HDTV out, s-video. LCD is probably the most cost efficient if you want to save space.

Try finding the reset button in the back of the router and hold it for 45 seconds then release it. The lights should go through a series of flashings etc and then the router is done resetting itself. If it still isn't working I recommend you return the product.
You could have 1 of 3 problems it could either be a software problem or a hardware problem or both.You have to think of it like this you could have a dice and have a combination of problems with your D-link router.
sounds like the router went bad...you said the light flickered but then went out when you plugged the cable from the modem to the back of the router (internet connection)? LIne out 1 and 2 should be lit also. Is the router plugged into electrical source? check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. You should at least be getting a light where the modem is connected to the router...reread the instructions and check dslreports.com . Also, you should be able to run the setup of the router from one of your computers that's connected to the router. The router should have a setup wizard that you run from the browser of the computer it's connected to.

Seems like the simplest in your situation would be to get a CAT5 "cross-over" cable and connect the NIC in one computer directly to the NIC in the other. Alternatively, get two regular CAT5 cables and a hub and connect them that way. If you don't have this stuff, you could probably borrow from a friend so you wouldn't be out any money.

Assuming you are using Windows, "share" (right click, properties) the directory with the files you want to copy. Om the other computer, go into "network" and find the files. Copy them to the second computer. That should work.

Simplest way is to connect the two via ethernet cable. You probably already have some around your house (to connect a modem to a router or a router to a computer). 0.0.0.0 isnt possible as an ip and 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address you can use to query your own network card.

You do not understand IP addressing. All zeros indicates no IP address. 127.0.0.1 is the loopback address. When there isnt a network available, there is no IP address and it comes back zeroes. When you ping the loopback address, you are pinging your own computer. You have to have 3 things to get online: IP address, Subnet Mask, and default gateway.

If you have both computer connected through a router, then you must verify that both have the same workgroup (verify it in My PC properties, computer name), and then you have to share folders, to do it, you must right click the folder to share, and select Share/Security. Open Network places and there you'll see the folders on each computer.

If you don't have a router or a network, then you have to create one: Get a crossover cable (you can get it in Best Buy or CompUSA) and connect both computers through the RJ45 connection. Right click My PC and select properties, assign a workgroup for both computers (must be the same) and a different computer name.

Open network connections in control panel, right click the LAN icon (Local Area Network) and select properties. Double click "TCP/IP" and select "Use the following IP address", in one PC type 192.168.1.1, gateway 255.255.255.0, the second PC IP: 192.168.1.2, gateway 255.255.255.0

I sure hope not. Consider spell-check -- while it can detect spelling errors, it can't check if you used the right word, or used the word correctly. Additionally, languages are so complex, the systems doesn't seem to be able to check for or correct all errors. If computers do all of our editing, our writing will become very stagnant and predictable - formulaic, even. I hope that day never comes!

But soon after that point, we will modify ourselves to do a better job as well, until eventually biological humans no longer exist and we are all inside computers. Your not the first person to offer custom PC's, but it's a somewhat flawed idea as the markets so competative. If this is just a switch, you can't use it by itself, you need a router to issue the IP's for your computers and route traffic between them and the internet.

Switches can't route they just connect, with only one PPPoE you only have ONE IP address, you need something to issue each machine an IP and that will be a router.

You can try running this script from a command prompt (run/command/enter) then type: net config server /autodisconnect:time_before_autodisconne...

Change the auto disconnect time from 15 minutes to 5 minutes or whatever you want. Since you aren't going to be able to get more than 10 connections at a time this will increase the availability of the printer.

I am assuming that this printer is connected to another computer on your network acting as a print server. This is partly the problem as well. If you had a printer that was network capable, connecting 1 or 100 shouldn't be a problem.

Are you sharing it locally through a pc or are you using a print server, and adding it as it's own individual networked device? If you have a network setup, you should have it connected to a print server, that should take care of your inbound problem. If you have it attached to a pc, and then sharing it through that pc, may not be the best for optimal performance.
You can't because a printer has a limit on how many computers it can have on one printer on, but if you use DOS, you should be able to do it.

No, A laptop is a computer. What you need to do is make sure you have drivers for the webcam. I assume the cam is USB. You've got enough kit... as long as they both connect to the internet.

On one PC, share the disk drive (or share a directory on the disk drive)... in Windows Explorer right click the disk drive or a folder, select 'sharing' from the menu, set up a share name / access rights etc. You may need to add the windows component to allow file and print sharing if the sharing option is greyed out.

Note down the IP address of this PC... as example 192.168.1.45

On the other PC, connect to the network drive. In Windows Explorer, use Tools %26gt; connect network drive and put in the IP address and share name (eg 192.168.1.45//my_share. Choose a drive letter to use. Don't choose to re-connect at reboot unless you want to make this a permanent share.

Now click on the new drive letter in Explorer... you may have to log on (as on the other computer), depending how you set up the share. There y'are... the second computer can now see the first one's disk. You can copy files one way or the other.
