i have a MacBook laptop and i want to start Boot Camp. my mother's computer is a PC and it's Windows XP. ok so i have all the requirements for Boot Camp except for the Windows XP disc.
my question is if i use my mom's disc (Windows XP installation disc) will it hurt/affect either of our computers?
Will using the same windows xp disc on 2 different computers affect anything?cafe racer
It should not have any effect on the computer. However, you should only register it once I believe. I'm not entirely sure on this topic but however, the first cd key you activate will be the registered one. Using this key multiple times shouldn't affect the use of it.

The best thing you can do is use the disk you have at the moment, this will not be an OEM copy as you would have bought it with your moms PC.
and OEM copy is when its bought with certain hardware or when it specialy licensed (a licence is normally a sticker on your PC)
Pt it in, load bootcamp, install, you will need to register the Windows XP install again, this may not work due to certain laws, but you normally only have to ring Microsoft and request a new code, which is a automated service.
Hope this Helps.
nope...there is a limit to how many times you can use the serial on the disk though...i've done mine a good 10 times before i believe
It shouldn't because it's only installation files as far as I know. But the only precaution you should take is making sure you have enough licenses to use it on both computers. An OEM disc would be best, as it has unlimited licenses.
