I have a laptop that came with Windows XP Media Center, and I have a desktop that came with Windows XP Pro. Can I use the same XP Pro disk to install the OS on both computers? I'm not really sure how that works, since it asks to activate the copy of windows online when you install it. Would I be able to have both of them work simultaneously?

with the copy you have, no. But you can easily find a copy of XP pro to download with bittorrent that will install on as many computers as you like.

If you are a licensed program user, NO. But if you are of the type who feel TO HELL WITH THESE REGULATIONS, you can. You need not activate the copy on line. Say not now!
No, your version won't allow multiple installations, so you will need to purchase a new CD with the operating system on it. Why not just upgrade to Windows Vista?
The license you have for XP Pro almost certainly does not allow you to install it on multiple computers.
No, windows checks directly which keys have been activated if i were you i would stick to media center it iss much better
That would be a licensing violation.
You can not do this legally because to activate Windows you will need a key and at the moment the only key you have is the one with the desktop computer which cannot be reused. If you want to you can purchase a key from Microsoft online for around $200.
