Trying to connect about 10 wireless computers and need to get the right router for d job. I need to know how to tell how many wireless computers a router can support
How can i tell which modem routers can support 10 or more wireless computers ?antivirus programs
Look for a web address with the various modems you are looking at for example, Linksys (which does well with wireless routing, and even has some firewall functionality built in) would be: http://www.linksys.com/ If you have time to sort through hours of research, (a little at a time of course), then here are some good places to visit: http://www.firewallguide.com/wireless.ht... and http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/wirel... and you might also check out http://www.dlink.com/ since they also have some expertise with wireless routers, as well as some business computing experience.

It will support more computers then you will ever going to use really.
It will kill your bandwidth that's available though
Any wireless router will support near any amount of wireless computers, but the more you have the slower the internet will go because they are all sharing the same line. What you are looking at is speed. Be sure to get a 802.11g or G standard wireless router which is faster and will have the ability to give atleast tolerable internet speeds to every computer attatched to it.
Any wireless router will support up to 254 devices.
its all to do with the nework address on a router
to cut a long story short all router you buy have a network address of 192.168.1.X
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
therefore you can connect about 254 computers to your wireless router!
