I can't get my Vista and XP computers to network.?

I had a XP notebook that was on this network and it worked fine. Then I bought a new notebook with Vista , The computers can see each other but I can't share files.

Assuming both computers are on the same network, and can both get on the internet at the same time;

The most likely cause of this is the workgroup that they're on. On each computer, right click on 'My computer' and choose properties. Click on the tab that says 'Computer Name' and then click the button that says "Change". At the bottom of the next screen, the 'dot' should be in workgroup for both computers and the name there should be identical on both computers. Also, on both computers, right click on the folder you want to share and click sharing and security to activate file sharing.

Because, Vista and Xp have a different code. They can't read each other. Another way they get you to pay more money. =(
enabled file and print sharing
