theres a distance between the 2 computers about 30metres and 1 is in the 1st floor and 1 in the 2nd floor and there are many obstacles between them too. will it work. someone told me theres something called adsl router, will this work with my sagem modem and how much is it. plz give me all details

I'm gathering that you have two computers that both have a wireless card in it. Then you have a DSL modem, that is most likely hooked up to one of the computers.

It sounds to me like you would like to surf the web from either computers via a wireless network.

There are two ways to do this. First, way would be to configure your wireless card to run in what is called AD-Hock mode. What this mode dose, is look for any wireless signal and attempt to network with it. Then what you need to do is share out the Internet connection on the computer that is attached to the modem. The draw back would be, shorter range, and one computer would always be were the Internet modem is plugged in at.

The second way, is to purchase a DSL Router. Companies like Net Gear, D-Link, or Linksys, all have such a device. Hook the router up to you DSL modem, and follow the instructions, to allow the computers to attach. As to your description of the house, you should be able to communicate through a wall, or a ceiling. The range is well over 30 meters. You can probably go a Kilometer or more.
