The Companies who put spyware on computers are the same as telemarketers who phone and bug you. So why can't the goverment shut down their websites or charge them for invading a persons privacy.

they are working on this, one firm is being sued by the NYAG on this one alone, it's still an emerging Field in law and so laws are revised and being sought to curb the spyware, but keep in mind huge companies are behind the spyware and are the ones against any legislation to curb their very profitable activities.

Actually, Ad-Adware didn't help that much, but it helps to make computer go faster. Still, the spyware files will get stuck into hard drive unless if you have Real Spyware software. Without getting free spyware. It just work that way some reason. Anyway, when if I get spyware, I clean them by using folder and find the files to delete them with my knowledge.
They are scum, but the bottom line is they are making money so they will continue until either the govt or some lawyer files a class action suit to make it unprofitable to SPAM people. yahoo mail filters the spam pretty good most end up in bulk I can live with it
