Is it possible to connect my USB external HD to two computers at the same time?

I just wanted it so I can have access to it on both computers without switching the cable back and forth. I've looked around, but can find anything like a USB cable splitter or anything like that. I saw USB hubs, but I'm not sure if I can have access to the HD on both computers.

connect the computer together with a router or hub and some ethernet cables.

connect the usb drive to ComputerA

share the drive on ComputerA, allow network users to change files.

Change both computers work group name so its identical on both pc's.

on Computer B, do

start

run

\\computera

If you did it right, you will see the shared usb drive..and be able to read and write to it from both pc's.

Short answer? No.

But wait.....

You can build a P2P network. Share. Then you can have access to all your hdd. Windows shows you how to build a P2P network. Goto Help and take it from there. That's the best solution available for now. To specifically address your situation, no solution exist in the fashion you want.
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I would say that there is a 99.99% chance that this is not possible.
