Blog is short for "Web Log", which is basically an online, open to the public, journal or diary of sorts. It can be geared toward a specific topic, such as politicts, or travel, or your local hobbie club. Or, it can be a hodge-podge scrapbook type thing. It can be added to by just one person, or several people, or anyone at all. It just depends on how it is set up.

It's short for weblog. It's kind of an online journal, write about anything you want.
You can start your own Blog or respond to someone else's Blog.
A BLOG is a web log. Kind of like a bulletin board.
A blog is where you can let people know what is going on in your life.
It is kinda like a public diary. But you have to be invited to view it I believe.
simply put... a blog is a place to post your thoughts, feelings, ramblings, etc... it's a diary that's as open as you want it to be... you can keep it private, invite only certain people to read it or make it public.

A blog stands for "Web log." People use them to post daily stuff, or how they feel about things. Yahoo! has it's own Yahoo! Answers blog so you can get the latest updates and news about what's going on. Blogging is a HUGE part of the Internet now, and tons of people do it. If you go to me Yahoo! Answers profile you can go to my Yahoo! 360 page, I have a blog there you can take a look at, it's not much but it'll give you an idea of the use. Also, check out Livejournal.com and blogger.com, those are 2 of the top blogging sites.
As simple as this: It is your online diary. Plus, your online scrapbook.
this is a blog.. wherever place where you can post something and somebody else can post an answer or a comment.. that is a blog
