I want to know everything there is to know about computers. Where should I start?

My knowledge of computers is pretty basic so I'm looking for FREE sites with helpful info on IT, programming, hardware, security, etc.

Please don't include wikipedia as I've already searched there. I've searched google too but with little luck. If you can find info that starts at a beginners level and gets more advanced as it goes along, that would be very helpful :) Thanks.

Start with books Pick something from your local bookstore or library that isn't real "wordy" ( as in with lot's of illustrations) . I would start learning how to use your operating system. take advantage of the help files and the online knowledge base at "Microstuff". Most important... explore, spend time just doing stuff with it. Knowing about something comes from experience.

Oh... That being said... learn how to back out of a jam if something goes screwy (control-alt-delete , etc ). Also, make friends with a computer geek.

Comptia A+ certification is pretty much the first step to any career in technology. Its basic hardware and software maintance.
GOOD LUCK!!! There is sooo much to know about computers I doubt if anyone in the whole universe knows EVERYTHING about computers. IDK what else to tell ya!
