Ordinary phone cable will not do, You need Ethernet cable and adapter to connect two computers on the same connection for Internet, Also you need to get from the service provider the IP address and configure your computer to network and sharing, then you can run both computers on the one broadband connection, your service provider can help you it is little difficult for ordinary person, My two computer run on a single Internet connection simultaneously with no effect on speed, So take help from an expert

It's called a "crossover cable" (check computer stores). A phone cable will NOT do.
A crossover cable will definitely do it, but nowadays most Ethernet adapters will auto-sense the connection and reverse the polarity if no signal is detected. So you could try a standard Cat 5 (or 5e) Ethernet cable... If that does not work, then get a crossover cable.
It depends. If each computer has a network card with an RJ45 connection, then you need an ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors. (It looks like a very big phone cable.) You may also need a switch or router between the computers depending on what operating system you are using and your knowledge of networking. It is much easier to setup a connection through a router (computer to router to computer) than directly between two computers. If you want to share an internet connection you should use a router for the firewall security.
