Can a linksys router be used to communicate with other computers with out using a Internet connection?????free spyware remobal
Yes you can. Just make sure all PCs including the router are in the same subnet (ie: all of them have IP like 192.168.0.x). Also to make it easier, configure all the laptops into the same workgroup.
In fact, you don't even need a router! Just use Ad-hoc mode on the wireless cards of all laptops and set the IP and workgroup like I said.
no u can't .... sorry
Yes, you can actually. Plug both computers in the router. (by the way, it doesn't matter what type of router you have) Right click on my computer, click on properties, go to computer name tab and make sure that the workgroup names are the same on both computers. Now, just click on my computer then my network places and they should both be there. Good luck!!!
You can set up an ad hoc network between your wireless laptops, and I think that you will need a wireless card for the desktop. Here is a link that explains.
