Can a phone line splitter be used on DSL to connect 2 computers on high speed?

this is only temporary. can a DSL phone line be split in two to connect 2 computers to the internet. I know a router would be ideal, but this would be only to test a computers ethernet card, drivers, and connection to the internet, can one of those phone line splitters be used? Thanks so much for your help.

Only possible if only one computer at a time is powered up, this is the same as unpluging one and pluging in the other.

No, you need to have a router plugged into the DSL modem and the computers plugged into the router.
nope.

if your intention is to test anything, the guy above says it all, only one at a time.

but it seems, you want internet at the two computers but not want a router. you will need two LAN jacks on the main computer and a single LAN jack on other.

you connect the two computers through a CAT5 crossover cable, then, you can share internet.
No, you need an Ethernet hub (router).
