Do you think man will ever be able to program computers to have human emotions.?

For example self preservation jealousy and love. I have a bet with my brother whether or not something like the matrix or the terminator would really happen. Where computers would fight back when treatened.

If technology gets sufficiently fast, then yes; after all, our brains are basically biological computers. Don't hold your breath, though; it would be impractical and insanely complicated!
Bill Gates just answered this question on CBS..Sunday Morning. They were playing Bridge and Bill Gates said it was the one game computers are a long way from mastering. It is the one game left where the human brain prevails. Take it from the wealthiest man in North America...6.4 Billion dollars. Warren Buffett is next at 6.2 Billion. No computer would every make me want to take my family out for breakfast at the finest greasy spoon. I will call them. Thanks for your thought-provoking question.
I think it's certainly possible to program them to *emulate* such things, but to actually *have* emotion would be a different concept altogether. The difference might not be apparent to an external observer, however.
we can program them to analyse and emulate emotions, they will never spontaneously create their own emotions.
Go watch iRobot. It will blow your mind.
hope not .......................
I don't think emotion can be created...it just is. That would be so interesting though...
no
