How do you setup a shared network connection for two computers? The host is wireless with XP home.?

One of my computers is wireless but has an Ethernet port as well , and I have another near it that I need to get on the network that only has an Ethernet port.. I know you can share the network connection between the two, it's just not working for me. I have tried sharing and Bridging the connections. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

Perhaps I am misinterpreting your question bec you do not make it clear whether in your location you have access to the actual WIRELESS ROUTER?

If you did have acess to the wireless router, then it would simply be a matter of running a Cat 5 ethernet cable from the rear of the router to the ethernet port...but let's say didn't want that long ugly cable running through your residence, then you would need to go wireless and there are 2 choices:

(i) if it is a Desktop and you had an open PCI slot on your Desktop, you could buy %26 install a PCI Wireless G WiFi card in addition to the software to pickup the wireless signal...

(ii) Probably a better %26 more practical choice is buying a LinkSys or Belkin USB WiFi adaptor that simply plugs into any computer's USB port and with the software installed detects the wireless signal.

Currently Linksys W300USB N WiFi %26lt;= that costs in the range of $70 to $90 has the highest "Wireless N capabilty" that like I mentioned when you would plug in via your USB port and after simple install, you will have no trouble picking all all available Networks...it also would work well %26 have same success connecting later should you come across and buy a Notebook PC to use at Panera Bread, Borders Books or Starbucks, i.e any Free Hot Spot
