Whenever I plug my ethernet cable into a second computer a message pops up and says my internet connection is limited. How do I fix this so my ethernet cable gives execellent quality to both computers?
How do you allow for one ethernet cable to work on two computers?internet security software
Do yourself a favor and get a router. That way you can connect more than one at a time. What is happening now is the modem is not issuing an new IP address. You can either restart the modem with a power cycle or go into the computer and do a refresh of the IP address.

Assuming that "one ethernet cable" means one cable coming out of your cable modem/DSL connection...
Best approach is to add a router, as others have suggested.
If you had two RJ-45/ethernet ports on your PC, you could
try something clever like setting up Windows ICS, and
windows network bridging. Only a real cheapskate, or
someone with some real hardware constraints, would
consider doing that.
If your first computer connects to the internet through this cable then your IP settings are set to either DHCP or static. You can see this in your network connections, Local Area Connection: right-click and choose Properties. Scroll down and double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). The 2nd PC needs to be set the same way as the first. If the 1st is static you can try setting the 2nd one number higher or lower than the 1st.
buy a ethernet switch
are you connecting them together i assume? if so you'll need a crossover cable to accomplish this.
If you only have one cable then it isn't going to be enough to plug into two computers. You either need to get anothe cable or buy a router.
