Is there a way for me to stream videos from one of my computers to another?

I had a lot of videos on one of my computers, but I recently got another one, a laptop, and I was wondering if there is a way to "stream" ( I have no idea if that's the right word. ) them from that computer to this one. If there is, what do I have to do?

Hi,

Transfer:

If you want to transfer video from your old PC to your Laptop you simply need to network them together, or burn it on DVD RW, or any other Storage Device.

Stream:

If you want to just view the video on your Laptop without actually placing it on your Laptop's Hard Drive then you need to network both of your PC together and make your old PC a video server and your Laptop a Client by using VLC player software.

Networking:

For networking you can directly wire both old PC and Laptop using Ethernet Cable and set one's IP to 192.168.0.1 and other's to 192.168.0.2 (this will be fast) in the TCP/IP Properties. Or just connect them to your Internet Router (via. wifi or cable). Or, if you have Firewire on your old PC and your Laptop and neither one has Vista Operating System then use the firewire cable to network them together (hell fast).
